Are You Seeing Spots – The Spotted Lanternfly In-Person

The Spotted Lanternfly is an invasive insect pest whose numbers are predicted to continue to expand this year in our area, and the nymphs or juvenile stage of this unwanted insect will soon be hatching. This insect is considered an agricultural and horticultural pest, and is a nuisance when populations increase and their presence becomes obvious to even the most casual observer.

Amy Stone, Extension Educator with The Ohio State University in Lucas County will show you how to look for over-wintering egg masses before they hatch this spring and will discuss management options including: the step, stomp and squish method; trapping; vacuuming; and treatment alternatives.  This program is sponsored by the Country Garden Club of Perrysburg.
