Navigating a Cancer Diagnosis

Navigating a Cancer Diagnosis In-Person

Whether you or a loved one have been diagnosed with cancer, its life changing. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all the questions and worries that lie ahead. Mercy Health nurse navigators serve as your partner in navigating the complex road of cancer care. Join us as Mercy Health Nurse Navigators discuss ways to navigate you or a loved one through the cancer journey. No registration required for this free program.

Lori Parker’s nursing career began in critical care, emergency settings, and interventional radiology – where she developed an interest in oncology.  Lori became an oncology nurse navigator in 2015 and specialized in the care of patients with lung cancer.  She developed and managed the Mercy Health Lung Screening Program, which navigates patients through lung cancer screening, treatment and/or surveillance.  Since 2018, Lori has served as Oncology Ancillary Services Manager, where she leads a team with diverse specialties including genetic counseling, nutritional counseling, cancer registry, social work, and nurse navigation.  She is also responsible for maintaining Mercy Health’s accreditations with the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.

Kendal Delaney has been with Mercy Health since 1988 and has extensive experience in oncology, including previous involvement with stem cell transplant, clinical research, and chemotherapy. Kendal currently serves as a lung navigator and has established the multidisciplinary Lung Clinic, which expedites each patient receiving treatment recommendations from surgical, medical, and radiation oncologists in a single appointment.
